Scotland struggle for consistency as Ireland's batsmen take upper hand

Scotland A face a battle to avoid defeat by their Ireland counterparts at Uddingston today.

The home players again failed to find a ruthless streak as the Irish hit 303 for seven in their second innings. It means that the Scots need to score 209 to claim victory.

Stuart Thompson (71) and Andy Poynter (54) seized the initiative for Ireland as the host bowlers struggled for consistency. The efforts of the pair enabled the visitors to reach 303 for seven with one day remaining. The seamers Calvin Burnett and Aman Bailwal were again the pick of the Scottish attack with two wickets apiece.
