QARABAG have hit by another shambolic Champions League farce after the Azerbaijani police force ordered them to stop selling tickets for the match against Celtic due to ticket tout fears.

The Azerbaijani champions are already facing a race against time to get their pitch playable for the third qualifying round showdown with Celtic.

Their attempts to sell their 30,000 tickets for the clash also went badly wrong in Baku.

Qarabag were forced to apologise to their own fans after initially putting the tickets on sale, with long queues forming to snap up the briefs.

But local Baku police ordered them to stop selling the tickets immediately because they had evidence local 'businessmen' were buying them in bulk and were intending to sell them on for a huge profit later.

A representative for Qarabag stated: "We were approached by law enforcement officers who ordered us to immediately stop selling tickets.

"They had evidence the tickets would be resold for profiteering. We apologise to our genuine supporters and they will be back on sale as soon as possible."
