Morton hope to end their barren run in front of goal after signing Swansea City striker Alex Samuel on a loan deal until January 9.

Jim Duffy’s side have found goals hard to come by this season, failing to find the net in three out of their four Scottish Championship matches this season.

Samuel joined Swansea from Aberystwth Town in 2012, and having played a starring role for the Premier League sides under-21’s last season is now deemed ready to experience first-team football.

The 19-year-old Welsh forward played a vital role in Swansea’s youth side winning the Premier Development League Two as he scored in both the semi-final and the final.

He joins Bobby Barr, Frank McKeown, Romario Sabajo, Denny Johnstone, Luca Gasparotto and Jai Quitongo as the new additions to the Morton squad as they bid to keep their place in the Scottish Championship.
