Here are five things we learned from the weekend's Ladbrokes Premiership action.

1. Kilmarnock can defend

The Ayrshire side had only kept one clean sheet in 25 games before travelling to Celtic Park on Saturday, but held the leaders to a goalless draw. Skipper Mark Connolly made his comeback following three months out with a knee injury to form a new central defensive partnership alongside Conrad Balatoni, who signed a long-term contract after the match. Clean sheets may become more commonplace at Rugby Park.

2. Hearts are not ready for a title challenge

So said head coach Robbie Neilson after his side were pegged back to a 1-1 draw by Dundee. Hearts had looked on course to move four points behind Celtic after Arnaud Djoum's first-half header, but they failed to hold on for their fifth consecutive league win and clean sheet. Neilson claimed his team were not yet ready to win consistently.

3. Motherwell need their experienced players.

With Stephen McManus suspended and both Keith Lasley and Steven Hammell injured, Motherwell fell to a 3-0 defeat to Ross County. The experienced trio will be back for this weekend's visit of Hearts and manager Mark McGhee will demand improvement.

4. Hamilton can turn a negative into a positive

Needing a solution to a series of kit clashes with Aberdeen, Hamilton decided to turn a crisis into an opportunity and sent kit man Danny Cunning around a series of sports shops in west central Scotland looking for France strips. With 20 French away strips bought for various sizes, they were able to pay tribute to the Paris terror attack victims and achieve widespread praise.

5. There is talent to be found in Scotland

Dundee secured their draw against Hearts with a team mostly made up of lower-league recruits, including goalscorer Rory Loy. Six of their starting line-up came from Scotland's three divisions, four had played elsewhere in the top flight and their summer signing from Barnsley, Kane Hemmings, had previously been at Rangers and Cowdenbeath.
