CELTIC and Dundee could play a Scottish Premiership game in the United States as early as this season in what would be a landmark occasion for the domestic game.

We understand this plan was proposed by the Dens Park club and while talks between all parties are at the tentative stage, possible dates and venues have been discussed.

Boston and Philadelphia are two of the cities which could hold the match which, if an agreement can be made, would take place before the end of this current campaign.

Celtic believe such a move, which Dundee have put forward to the Scottish Professional Football League, would be a positive step if the relative authorities give it the go-ahead.

Dundee are owned by American businessmen Tim Keyes and John Nelms who are thought to be behind the idea.
