O'Dea began his career at Celtic in the 2006-2007 season
Dundee are closing in on the signing of former Celtic defender Darren O’Dea.
The Republic of Ireland international is currently a free agent having last played for Mumbai City in the Indian Super League, following spells in England with Blackpool, Leeds United and Ipswich Town.
The 28-year-old has also had spells in Ukraine and in the MLS with Toronto FC and had been in talks with several clubs about a return to North America.
O’Dea has currently made 20 appearances at international level since breaking through at Celtic in the 2006-207 season and has gone on to make 200 senior club appearances throughout his career.
Dundee are currently seventh in the Scottish Premiership.
