Ross County have secured top goalscorer Liam Boyce on a deal for the next two seasons.

The Northern Ireland international scored 17 goals for County this season before New Year and his new deal is a major boost to the Staggies.

The 24-year-old also netted 11 times in his debut season for County last term after scoring 60 goals in two seasons with Cliftonville, after returning from an unsuccessful spell with Werder Bremen.

In a short statement ahead of their Ladbrokes Premiership encounter with Hearts, County said: "The club is delighted to announce that Liam Boyce has signed an extension to his contract till the end of the 2017/2018 season."
