CELTIC look set to try and plunder the Australian market for young talent after setting up a training academy Down Under.

The Hoops will invite a young Socceroo on trial with the Scottish champions, after they hold a training academy in Ballarat, in Victoria, Australia in March.

Celtic already boast top Aussie midfielder Tom Rogic and are keen to try and capture the emerging talent in the country by sending coaches to the other side of the world for the soccer school.

Andrew Barnett, spokesman for the Aussie training school, said: "It’s a big thing, it’s a great experience for the youngsters.

"Celtic are coming here to pass their knowledge onto our local talent and up and coming talent and we’re not just working with certain age groups, we’re working with the whole football community.

"If this all works well it could become a really good partnership for Ballarat and football and Celtic."
