BARRIE McKAY, the Rangers winger, has revealed no talks have so far taken place about him extending his stay at Ibrox.
The 22-year-old has 18 months left on his current deal and admitted he was relaxed about what happens next in his career, although as one of the club’s better players the supporters would like to see being offered a new long-term contract sooner rather than later.
McKay has been dogged with inconsistency this season; however, he has emerged to become one of his team’s best players in recent months with his performance against Celtic one of the best of his career.

Rangers do need to keep their better players, especially as there is no a lot of money about to buy talented wingers. From McKay’s point of view, he is in no hurry to get something sorted out.
“For me right now it's just about playing football," he said. "If they come to me then they come to me. Until they do it's up to me just to keep doing well.
“I don't think there is anything to be gained from thinking about it too much. You can start letting it affect your performances and stop playing so well. 'I am quite a chilled guy and that probably helps me in these situations.'
“I'm here and I've still got 18 months and if they want to look at extending it they can come and talk to me, but until then it's up to me to keep performing to the level I can and keep progressing.”

Rangers have one crack at a trophy this season and it’s this one. They could do with avoiding defeat at the weekend.
McKay said: “Every cup we go into win. To get silverware on the board would mean a lot to the boys and the club to keep adding to the trophies we have already got.
“And to stop Celtic getting the treble... the fans would be equally as happy as us winning it.
“We worked so hard to get there last season, as Hibs did, but to be beaten at that final hurdle did hurt a lot and took a while to stop running through our minds. You come to a club like Rangers to win trophies. To get that opportunity would be second to none and it is something we want to do.”
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
