ROSS COUNTY striker Alex Schalk has been handed a two-match ban for simulation after diving to win his side a controversial late penalty against Celtic.
The Dutchman went down in the penalty area to earn a spot kick that Liam Boyce converted to earn his side a 2-2 draw, but replays showed the forward had clearly dived.
The Scottish FA confirmed on Wednesday that the 24-year-old has accepted an immediate two-match suspension 'for committing an act of simulation.'
Schalk will now miss crucial relegation clashes against Highland rivals Inverness and 10th-placed Motherwell.
The governing body also announced that they have set a date of Thursday 27 April to hear Celtic's claim of a wrongful dismissal for captain Scott Brown in the same match.
Brown was sent off for a late tackle on County striker Boyce, but he will be free to play against Rangers in this weekend's Scottish Cup semi-final as the SFA are yet to hear the Hoops' appeal.
