Brendan Rodgers has admitted that he is tempted to give Kris Commons the chance to bid farewell to the Celtic support before leaving the club in the summer.

“I am sentimental - but not over-sentimental," Rodgers said. “I actually spoke to Kris on the subject earlier in the season if he was going to go in January.

“You have to respect someone who’s played the game he has here. He had a great impact.

“We've always talked openly and well. He's a good guy, I like him. He’s been a fantastic servant for Celtic - being a supporter of the club I know what he’s done in his time here, so he’ll go with the respect of myself.

“But the most important thing for him at the minute is getting fit. He was outside doing some jogging this week so we’ll see how it goes.”
