Lee McCulloch lauded Kilmarnock's "rising star" Freddie Woodman after the goalkeeper claimed he does not get enough credit from his boss.
Woodman played a crucial role in Killie's 2-0 win over Hamilton which moved them six points clear of the relegation play-off spot with four games to play.
Conor Sammon and Jordan Jones grabbed the goals for the Rugby Park men as they extended their seven-year unbeaten run at the SuperSeal Stadium.
But Woodman, who is keeping Jamie MacDonald out of the team, pulled off two important saves from Dougie Imrie in the first half to ensure a third clean sheet in four games.
And the England Under-20 international was keen to remind his manager of that after the 90 minutes.
McCulloch said: "I always forget to mention the goalkeeper, he told me that after the game.
"His first save was brilliant. He's now got three clean sheets out of his last four.
"He made some great saves to stop Dougie Imrie, the header as well.
"He's a rising star and an under-20 international. It shows you the standard we have in the dressing room.
"Jamie's training hard every day waiting on his chance and to be fair he knows Freddie has been on it the last few weeks."
The defeat leaves Hamilton level on points with Motherwell in the relegation play-off spot and Accies boss Canning believes the battle to avoid the drop will go right down to the final game after seeing their four-match unbeaten run come to an end on Saturday.
He said: "I've thought for a long time it could go right to the wire.
"You hope that you get the results and take yourself out of it but I think every other team will be thinking the same thing.
"We need to make sure that we go and build on the momentum again because it is going to be important that we get back on the front foot against Inverness on Saturday."
