BRENDAN Rodgers has been named Ladbrokes Premiership manager of the month for September.

The Celtic boss maintained the Hoops' position at the top of the table after guiding his side to three wins and a draw, including a 2-0 victory away to rivals Rangers.

Rodgers' side put four goals past Hamilton Accies and Ross County before the winning trip to Ibrox, although a 2-2 draw at home to Hibernian ahead of the international break prevented them from pulling away at the league summit.

Aberdeen are currently behind the Bhoys on goal difference, but level on 20 points going into this weekend's fixtures.

Celtic continue domestic duties when Dundee visit Parkhead on Saturday.

The champions' impressive form continued in other competitions during September, with the Hoops recovering from a heavy defeat to PSG to beat Anderlecht 3-0 away from home, while a 4-0 Betfred Cup victory over Dundee earned them a semi-final spot.
