CELTIC have been handed a €10,000 fine by UEFA after a fan invaded the pitch during last month's Champions League defeat to Paris Saint-Germain.

John Hatton from Northern Ireland ran onto the pitch during the first half of the Hoops' 5-0 defeat and attempted to kick PSG striker Kylian Mbappe, before being led away by stewards amid boos from the home fans.

He has since been banned from British football for four years and given a 160-hour community payback order after pleading guilty to the offence.

UEFA handed the Scottish champions a fine of around £9,000 on Monday as punishment, having already penalised the club 11 times in less than six years for a range of offences.

PSG were also given a €5,000 fine after fans broke seats at Celtic Park during the match on 12 September.
