Motherwell's Chris Cadden hopes he and his twin brother Nicky can secure a double celebration for their family as they both prepare for finals this week.

The Scotland Under-21 international will take on Celtic in the William Hill Scottish Cup final on Saturday as he bids to bring the trophy back to his hometown.

Nicky, meanwhile, is aiming to join his brother in the Ladbrokes Premiership next season as he and his Livingston team-mates prepare for a play-off final against Partick Thistle.

The pair came through the Motherwell youth ranks together – following in the footsteps of their father, Stephen – before Nicky moved to Airdrie.

The Motherwell player said: "It's a big week in the Cadden household. We'll bounce off each other and talk about it.

"I was there on the Friday night when Livi beat Dundee United and it was a brilliant atmosphere and I thought Nicky did well when he came on.

"We are both really looking forward to it and trying to push each other on. It could be an unbelievable week for the Cadden family."

The 21-year-olds have already achieved success in their careers. Chris has won a League Two title on loan with Albion Rovers – again emulating his father – along with winning the Scottish Youth Cup for Motherwell, while Nicky won a League One title winners' medal with Livingston last season.

And both will be driving each other on this weekend with Livi's second leg coming on Sunday in Maryhill.

"If it goes well for me I will maybe go straight from the night out to his game," Chris said. "But I'll be there on Sunday supporting him fully.

"That's one thing we do as a family, try and support each other, Mum, Dad and uncles as well follow each other about.

"My family are proud of us and hopefully we can make them even prouder this week."
