Derek Adams, the Ross County manager, is keen for the Scottish Football Association to review their rules for red cards issued in friendly matches.

His side face FC Twente tonight, with a sending off enough to rule out one of his players for the start of the domestic campaign.

The County manager would prefer that any dismissal in a friendly did not lead to a domestic ban. "It is a disproportionately heavy punishment to lose a player for something that has happened in a friendly," he said.

Adams has gained a rejuvenated striker in the form of Yohann Arquin, though. The Frenchman went AWOL last season due to unspecified reasons but has since apologised to his manager. "I am happy here with County," he said.
