DEREK ADAMS has moved to burnish his Ross County squad for next season with the signing of Dutchman Darren Maatsen.

The 22-year-old winger spent last season with Excelsior in his homeland but has spent time training in Dingwall with his new club. "I am delighted to have signed Darren," said Adams, who also concluded a pre-contract deal for another Dutchman, midfielder Melvin de Leeuw, after his deal with Cambuur expired. "He is a quick and skilful player who will suit our style of play next season."

One player who will not be at County is Mark Fotheringham, the midfielder having joined Swiss side FC Luzern after choosing not to extend his stay in the Highlands. The 29-year-old previously played in Switzerland for FC Aarau, for Freiburg in Germany and for Anorthosis Famagusta in Cyprus.
