:: Versus Hibernian, League Cup final, 1994 - Still trying to shake off the devastating effects of a broken leg sustained on Scotland duty in Portugal a year earlier, McCoist climbed off the bench to win Rangers their fourth trophy in a row with a spectacular overhead kick.

:: Versus Dundee, Scottish Cup fourth round, 1985 - Fans in the Copland Road crowd famously tell the off-form frontman where to go as his side crash out of the tournament.

:: Versus CSKA Moscow, Champions League group stages, 1993 - McCoist is reduced to tears as Rangers miss out on a place in the final of Europe's top competition.

:: Versus Hearts, Scottish Cup final, 1998 - The veteran striker nets in his final game for Gers but he cannot prevent the Jambos claiming a 2-1 win at Celtic Park.

PERSONAL ACHIEVEMENTS

:: The first player to win the European golden boot two seasons running after following up his 1992 win with a repeat triumph 12 months later.

:: Awarded an MBE in the Queen's 1994 Birthday honours list.

AS MANAGER

:: Succeeded Walter Smith in summer of 2011. Built a 15-point lead over Celtic but first season ended in chaos as club went into administration under Craig Whyte.

:: Won the Scottish Third Division title in 2012-13 following club's demotion.
