Hamilton striker Mickael Antoine-Curier has urged Accies to deal him in - before someone else does.

The Guadeloupean frontman's contract expires at the end of the season but he is keen to get his future sorted soon.

The 31-year-old has seven goals from 19 appearances for Alex Neil's men this term - including his stunning volley against Dundee a fortnight ago.

And he believes he will not be short of offers come the January transfer window.

Antoine-Curier told Press Association Sport: "January is a big month for me because I'm out of contract at the end of the year. The window is opening soon so we will need to see what happens.

"Of course I would be keen to stay at Hamilton. I enjoy it here and I'm settled. I'm happy to stay if they want me to stay.

"But football is football. If you have a great offer coming your way you can't knock it back.

"The club haven't been talking to me about a new contract and as of January I will be a free agent. If somebody comes for me I am going to have to look at it because, at the end of the day, I have got to look after me.

"But if I play for Hamilton and nothing is sorted, I will still give my all."

The big striker - now onto his third stint with Accies - has a CV that includes spells with 18 different clubs.

But now he wants to settle down - whether that be with Hamilton or somewhere else.

Speaking before Saturday's Scottish Premiership clash with Kilmarnock, he said: "I'm not scared of a new challenge. I've been to new countries and played all over the place.

"But obviously I want more security now. I'm settled a man now. I'm not the naive kid I used to be.

"I'm looking after my future so hopefully I can secure a long-term deal somewhere. If it's Hamilton I'm quite happy to do so.

"I'm an ambitious guy so who knows where that will take me. Hopefully someone will take a chance on me because I deserve a chance to show what I can do over a longer term.

"I've had a three year deal at Nottingham Forrest. And I knocked back a three-year deal from Preston when Davie Moyes was there.

"But when you are living year to year or on deals that are even shorter it can be hard. Now I just want to settle down."

Kilmarnock midfielder Craig Slater claims his side have simply not been getting the breaks during their recent run of poor results.

After an encouraging start to the season the Ayrshire side have lost seven out of their last eight matches - drawing the other - while dropping to eighth in the Scottish Premiership table.

Ahead of the visit of Hamilton this weekend, the 20-year-old Slater lamented Killie's recent luck.

"We are in a rut and everyone is just desperate to try to turn it around and that starts against Hamilton on Saturday," he said.

"We are desperate to get back to the way we started the season.

"I don't know if I can put my finger on what has gone wrong but daft wee things that aren't going our way in games.

"We are not getting the breaks and you don't seem to get them when you are in that rut.

"It is frustrating for us and the fans but we are working hard to change it.

"We are passing the ball but maybe just lacking that finishing touch when we get into the last third.

"We need to finish with a goal or something positive, like more shots on goals.

"But we need goals from all different areas, not just the strikers, and if we get a cutting edge we will start to do better.

"Accies are a tough team, though, and work ever so hard so we will have to match that.

"But we have played some good stuff recently and I don't see why we can't get the three points."

The Scotland Under-21 player has just returned to the Ayrshire side in recent weeks and the fear of stagnating makes him extra keen to keep his place .

"I was playing well at the start of the season but got injured which was frustrating," he said.

"I had to work hard and get back into the plans.

"I came back in at Ibrox against Rangers but it didn't quite happen.

"But I got the chance on Saturday (against Aberdeen) and I thought I did well so I will be looking to stay in the team.

"I need to try and play as many games as I can. There is nothing better than playing. I don't like sitting on the bench. It is not doing me any good.

"I am only 20 so I am not developing if I am sitting on the bench.

"There is no problem with the club. I just need to stay in the team and that is up to me."
