Alan Archibald, the Partick Thistle manager, will offer a contract to midfielder Mark Kerr as he continues to finalise his squad ahead of a return to the top flight.

Kerr has been on trial at Firhill and scored during a 4-3 friendly win at Dumbarton on Saturday.

The former Dundee player would bring experience to the Partick squad, although Archibald is also keen to pursue a loan move for 19-year-old midfielder Gary Fraser. The teenager signed for Bolton Wanderers from Hamilton Academical this summer but has featured as a trialist for Partick during pre-season.

"We're speaking to Bolton about bringing Gary Fraser in on loan and we are going to offer Mark Kerr a contract," said Archibald. "He's done really well and he is the right type to come in and enhance our midfield."
