Arsenal 0 Schalke 04 2:

The Emirates is no longer a Champions League fortress for Arsenal, who suffered their first home defeat in the competition since 2009.

Arsene Wenger watched from the stands, serving out his European touchline ban, as his side failed to find the form that had deserted them in Saturday's lacklustre 1-0 defeat at Norwich.

Schalke now overtake Arsenal at the top of Group B, and were good value for their victory, secured by second-half goals from Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and Ibrahim Afellay.
