The 12 Scottish Premier League clubs have voted unanimously in favour of league reconstruction plans that would mean the organisation merging with the Scottish Football League.

The 12-0 decision was delivered, according to a report on the STV website, after a written resolution was delivered by email, allowing the clubs to record their support for the establishment of the Scottish Professional Football League.

The reconstruction plans now require a majority vote in favour by the SFL clubs. However, at the organisation's agm last week, an indicative vote revealed they were six short of achieving the required approval, with 16 in favour and 13 against. The 10 first division clubs immediately reasserted their intention to resign from the SFL and accept an invite from the SPL to form a second tier, essentially splitting Scottish football into full-time and part-time clubs.

A formal SFL vote is due to be held on June 12.
