Blunt forces must address lack of cutting edge

There seemed to be a hint of frustration in Paul McGowan's tone as he looked back on a season of missed opportunities, despite St Mirren at times producing some of the most attractive football seen in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League over the past 10 months.

But there is no denying that Danny Lennon, the St Mirren manager, is correct in his assertion that his players have "bought into" the brand of football he demands, a style which, according to McGowan is both enjoyable to watch and in which to participate.
