Brown could be given green light to feature in World Cup double-header

CELTIC will do everything they can to help Scott Brown's chances of playing for Scotland in next month's World Cup double-header against Wales and Belgium.

The Parkhead captain delivered a powerful performance in their midweek Champions League draw with Benfica but he is being used only sparingly because of a degenerative hip problem. The need to relieve the injury by regular resting means Brown finds it difficult to play two or three times in a week, but Neil Lennon said a careful programme of rest could allow Brown to play in both international matches on October 12 and 16.
