Brown hopes McGinn will be fit to augment his attack

Niall McGinn has returned to full training with Aberdeen after recovering from an ankle injury.

The 25-year-old winger has been absent since being carried off in the 0-0 draw against Ross County last month.

Tests showed ligament damage – described at the time as "a huge blow" by the Pittodrie manager Craig Brown – but he has healed quickly, raising hopes he could be back in time to feature against Inverness Caledonian Thistle after the international break.

The former Celtic winger has played just one full game for Aberdeen since joining this summer and Brown will be keen to get him into the team as he strives for additional attacking impetus after consecutive goalless home draws against Hearts and St Mirren in recent weeks.
