SCOTT Brown is prepared to see out the remainder of his career at Celtic and urged the likes of Georgios Samaras and Joe Ledley to join him at Parkhead for the long haul.

The club's 28-year-old captain, who was linked with big-money moves to Tottenham Hotspur back in 2009 and Newcastle United two years later said the prospect of playing in England's Premier League didn't appeal to him "in the slightest" and he is keen to extend his tenure at the club he joined in a £4.4million deal from Hibernian in the summer of 2007.

"I've been here for nearly seven years and I can see myself staying for a lot longer," said Brown, who missed three Champions League games this year due to suspension. "Does it appeal to me leave Celtic and go down to England?

"Not in the slightest. I don't see why I would swap winning trophies, winning leagues and playing in the Champions League. This is a great club, I'm not going to beat the occasions I get in the Champions League. England is where the money is. But if I put my heart before the cash signs, it's Celtic for me."

While Brown is under contract until the summer of 2015, of more current concern to Celtic will be a resolution in negotiations with Samaras and Ledley to prevent either leaving for free next summer.

Brown added: "Sami loves it here, so does Joe. I don't think people understand in Greece and England just how good a club this is. Once they come, they don't want to leave."

Manager Neil Lennon said the club may have to "force the issue a little bit more" in terms of recruitment in January, not least to reassure the likes of Samaras and Ledley that Celtic are a club worth staying at.

"I don't want any player to leave on a Bosman, particularly ones that have given so much to us in the past two or three years," Lennon said. "These players also need reassurances that quality players will be coming in, otherwise they will say 'well, what's the point?'."
