Brown unhappy over timing of Easter Road departure

BILLY BROWN expressed surprise and disappointment last night after learning his contract as Hibernian's assistant manager, which expires today, will not be renewed.

The 61-year-old, who was given the news earlier in the week, admitted he would have preferred to have been told of the decision sooner.

Brown joined Hibs after being sacked by Hearts last August. He was kept on as Pat Fenlon's assistant after Colin Calderwood's departure in November.
