TERRY BUTCHER insisted that potential signings remain "excited" by the prospect of joining Hibernian, despite enduring a frustrating January transfer window so far.

Butcher has made no secret of his desire to add fresh faces to his side, with another attacker, additional pace and defensive reinforcements thought to be his main priority.

"The lure of Scottish football is still tremendous down south," he said. "Plenty of players would love to play here and love to come to Hibernian Football Club. There is no doubt about that - there are so many attractions to coming to the club.

"It is easy to promote the club. People know about our interest and they get excited. We're quite a way down the road with one or two so hopefully we can get that over the line soon. At Hibs we can go for good quality players with experience and understanding in the game."
