LIVINGSTON defender Callum Fordyce insists the Almondvale side's revival began against Rangers - now he is targeting a victory against the Ibrox outfit that will propel the team off the Champonship basement.

Mark Burchill's side host Rangers this evening on the back of a three-game winning run that includes a stunning Petrofac Training Cup final triumph over Alloa.

The West Lothian outfit have only been beaten once in their last six matches after beginning that sequence with a morale-boosting draw in Govan in what was Stuart McCall's first game in charge.

Now Fordyce is hopeful of collecting a win that will take Livingston off the bottom of the Championship on goal difference ahead of Alloa.

He said: "The confidence is really high with the recent results we've had so we need to keep that going. Even before the Petrofac Training Cup final we had a couple of good performances that included the draw at Rangers, and it just proved to ourselves that we can do it.

"Against Rangers we played really well and we could easily have nicked the three points but with us getting a point, we took confidence from that and we've continued it.

"It was McCall's first game when we played them but I think we showed our quality that night - we've nothing to fear.

"Hopefully come Wednesday night we can go out there and do it again.

"We've always known we're a good side, the cup win also maybe gave us that bit of confidence and belief again."

Fordyce, who has made 40 appearances this season, added: "It would be a great boost if we can jump off the bottom.

"A lot of people were writing us off when we got the five potions deducted so if we get off the bottom it will give us that boost and we'll be on the up.

"With the results we've had I'm sure teams will be thinking now that we're one to fear."
