Can the latest to be ticked off the shopping list at Anfield

Liverpool agreed a deal to sign Emre Can from Bayer Leverkusen yesterday and the midfielder is not expected to be short of company as the Anfield club continue to work through an extensive transfer list.

An offer of £25m remains on the table for Southampton midfielder Adam Lallana, while his erstwhile team-mate Ricky Lambert has already been recruited.

The striker is expected to be followed by Can as Liverpool last night activated a £9.5m release cause in his contract. The club are interested too in Sevilla left-back Alberto Moreno but face a challenge from Tottenham Hotspur.

Philippe Senderos last night left London behind, though, after securing a move from Fulham to Aston Villa. Former Chelsea defender Alex has, meanwhile, agreed to sign for AC Milan after leaving Paris Saint-Germain. Milan also want winger Jeremy Menez.
