Celtic 4 Raith Rovers 1: Hooper hits four as he offers a lessson in finishing to new crop of strikers

CELTIC have spent the last few months pursuing exotic striking options but Gary Hooper last night issued a reminder that he remains the most reliable marksman on the Parkhead payroll.

Pretty much everything the Englishman touched against Raith Rovers in the Scottish Communities League Cup turned to goals, the four strikes he helped himself to against the Irn Bru first division side in this third-round tie being the first time a Celtic player had scored four goals in a match since . . . .well, since Hooper himself scored all five in a 5-0 win on the final day of last season against Hearts.
