Celtic will face Stjarnan in the second qualifying round for the Champions League.

The Glasgow club were pulled from the hat this morning in Nyon against the Icelanders ahead of next month's two-legged tie.

After being seeded in group two, Ronny Deila's team could have faced Ventspils of Latvia, Zalgiris Vilnius of Lithuania, Dundalk of the Republic of Ireland.

Celtic could also have gone up against the winners of two first round games, but instead will head to Garoabaer in Iceland.

They will take on the part-timers who will be familiar to fans of fellow Premiership side Motherwell, who faced Stjarnan in last season's Europa League qualifiers.

The Steelmen were held to a 2-2 draw at Fir Park before being knocked out in extra-time in the return. It led to a memorable debut season in Europe for the Urvalsdeild club, who went on to beat Lech Poznan before coming unstuck against Italian giants Inter Milan.

The ties will be played on July 14/15 and July 21/22
