The Angers striker – likened to one-time Celtic target Olivier Giroud – is on the radar of several European clubs, with scouts having been dispatched from Parkhead.
New Ligue 1 champions Montpellier are favourites to sign the 23-year-old, but Neil Lennon's side are also in the hunt.
"At the moment, I am still an Angers player," said Charbonnier, who scored 12 times in 30 starts for Angers this season. "But I must admit it is flattering to be linked with all these good European clubs.
"I have never hidden the fact that I want to perform at the top level and if I had to move, I will. My eventual destination will depend upon which club is better for my future."
Other than Celtic and Montpellier – who are expected to lose Giroud this summer – French clubs St Etienne, Monaco, Bordeaux and Nice, Italians Udinese and Belgian club Standard Liege are all understood to be interested.
