Gavin Harris will come under the spotlight again after being selected as referee's assitant for Sunday's Scottish Cup quarter-final between Inverness Caledonian Thistle and Dundee United.

Harris was the centre of attention after the United attacker Nadir Ciftci was deemed to have grabbed him by the throat when the clubs met in a stormy League Cup quarter-final in October. Ciftci was sent off by referee Kevin Clancy and Inverness went on to win the game 2-1 after extra-time.

The Turkish player was initially cited for "seizing" Harris but the charge was later amended at an SFA Disciplinary Tribunal to "placing an open hand into the lower area of the assistant referee's throat".

Ciftci faced a 10-match ban following the controversial match but in the end was given a two-game suspension.

Willie Collum will take charge of Sunday's tie.
