Lee Croft appears to be nearing a return to St Johnstone after Nigel Clough, his manager at Derby County, confirmed the player is likely to play in Scotland again in the new season.
The 27-year-old scored three goals in 11 starts following his a January loan from Derby but missed the final month of the campaign after tearing a hamstring.
Steve Lomas, the manager of St Johnstone, is keen to bring Croft back to Perth and Clough will not stand in the player's way.
