Derek Adams, the Ross County manager, has been informed that he retains the full support of his club's board despite having been unable to lead them out of the SPFL Premiership play-off place.

The Dingwall side finished last season in the top six but have suffered from much meeker form this term.

The immediate threat of relegation is perhaps diminished since Hearts remain 14 points adrift and County have reaffirmed their intention not to cut their manager loose. Indeed, Adams has already been given funds to bolster his squad next month.

"Derek Adams has the full backing of the board at Ross County, there is no question about that," said Roy MacGregor, the County chairman. "We are lucky to have a manager who has brought the most successful times to the club."
