Clyde horror show so bad Barry Ferguson watched it twice

Barry Ferguson admits he forced himself to watch a rerun of Clyde's hammering at Ibrox not once, but twice.

His side lost 8-1 in Monday's Petrofac Training Cup second round to cap a miserable return to Govan for the Clyde manager and one-time Rangers captain.

He said: "It was a very difficult night. I think I had about half-an-hour's sleep. I've watched it twice. We had a chance to go and show that we could play at a higher level. They know they let themselves down and that's the biggest disappointment. I'm desperate to get them in on Thursday and sweep this under the carpet and look forward to a good league campaign. In hindsight, maybe I could have parked the bus but we would have been playing into Rangers' hands.

"If we played the match again I might have played a different way but it's all about learning."

Ferguson will attempt to lift his players for Saturday's League 2 trip to Elgin City.

Speaking to plzsoccer.com, he added: "I don't think I'll have a problem motivating these players. I expect a reaction off them, that's one thing I will demand."
