The Scottish Premier League clubs will press ahead with plans to hold a vote on league reconstruction next month, but dissenting voices continue to cast doubt on the likelihood of the proposals succeeding.

Following a meeting of all 12 clubs at Hampden yesterday, Roy MacGregor, the Ross County chairman, admitted that he and other clubs still "have some concerns".

No date has been confirmed for the vote, although it is expected to be held on April 15. The Scottish Football League clubs will meet on Thursday, with one of the principle topics being whether to support a 12-12-18 or 12-12-10-10 set-up. The former is more likely to be supported, but there are concerns about the make-up of the board of the proposed new league body, which would be a merger of the SPL and the SFL. With the current Sky contract thought to have clauses allowing the broadcaster to renegotiate their deal this summer based on viewing figures, there are also questions about the financial status of the SPL.
