Craigan prepares for his final bow with no regrets

His exit from the Fir Park media room went unheralded, Stephen Craigan offering brief handshakes then disappearing through the door.

It will likely be a far more prolonged farewell tomorrow, with the defender bringing his long Motherwell career to an end against Dundee United.

The 35-year-old is somewhat unaccustomed to goodbyes – the captain has spent almost 15 years at Fir Park, with three season at Partick Thistle his only time away – which is probably why he has found it hard to envisage what it will be like to salute supporters for the final time.
