Kevin Rutkiewicz, the former Aberdeen and St Johnstone defender, has returned to Scottish football after signing a contract with ambitious SPFL League 1 club East Fife.

The 33-year-old - who was playing with Dunfermline Athletic in the top flight as recently as 2012, has agreed an 18-month deal with Gary Naysmith's side after a short spell in the United States with Carolina Railhawks.

Gary Fisher has also agreed terms to remain in Fife until the summer. The Kilmarnock player had signed initially on an emergency loan and that deal has since been extended. Meanwhile, Alexis Dutot, Cedric Tuta, Jack Smith and Stephen Hughes have all left.
