SEAN DILLON believes his team-mate and PFA Young Player of the Year Andrew Robertson is an inspiration to other young Scottish players.

The Dundee United left-back has been a stand-out for Jackie McNamara's side since signing from Queen's Park in the summer and won his first cap for Scotland on the back of his performances.

Robertson was released by Celtic as a youngster but it only strengthened his resolve and Dillon insists the defender can inspire younger players everywhere.

"It's a great achievement for Andy and the lads are all really pleased for him," said Dillon. "He was probably seen as one for the future but he's taken his chance."
