Nottingham Forest manager Dougie Freedman has put pen to paper on a new two-year contract with the Championship club, apparently ending speculation linking him with the Rangers vacancy.
The former Scotland striker replaced Stuart Pearce in the dugout in February on an initial 18-month deal that was due to be reviewed at the end of the season.
Former Crystal Palace and Bolton boss Freedman, who has presided over seven victories at the City Ground, said: "I have signed the contract which the chairman (Fawaz Al Hasawi) sent me, and I have sent it back.
"I have to build something now and I am excited about that. I have a good squad and a good spirit here. It does feel as though we can look forward to a bright future, but we will go about our business quietly, looking to build something special for the longer term.
"I have to build something - it doesn't just happen overnight. We have tried that trick and tried to throw money at it and it has got us nowhere. Let's settle everything down a little bit.
"It is certainly a brighter future, but we need to plan it in a different way. It might not be back-page stuff, but we will slowly go about our business and try to be successful for the longer term."
