DUNDEE have struck a compensation deal with Queen of the South to avoid being taken to a SFPL tribunal over defender Kevin Holt's transfer.

The left-back moved to Dens Park on a three-year deal earlier this summer after making 41 appearances in the Dumfries side that reached last season's Championship play-offs.

At the time, Queens claimed they would pursue a development fee through the league body after a compensation deal had not been agreed.

Holt had been attached to the Palmerston Park outfit since the age of 11 and went on to make over 100 appearances at first-team level.

But Queens confirmed yesterday that both clubs had now reached an agreement

A club spokesperson said: "We are happy to confirm that following a meeting between the two clubs last week, a compensation package for Kevin Holt has now been agreed with Dundee FC - avoiding the need for both clubs to waste time and money on a tribunal.

"We obviously wish Kevin the best of luck in his future career."
