Dunfermline Athletic v Aberdeen: 'We've made three semi-finals in two years'

As Craig Brown parried a media invitation to examine the succession of blips Aberdeen have experienced in cup competitions – Queen's Park, Raith Rovers and East Fife have all bloodied the Pittodrie noses in recent years – he conceded that Dunfermline Athletic will be no pushovers in the Scottish Communities League Cup at East End Park this evening.

The Aberdeen manager also sought to put a more positive spin on proceedings with a reminder that, apart from Celtic, Aberdeen are the only side to have reached three semi-finals in the last two years.
