Dunfermline goalkeeper Ryan Scully insists that Andy Goram can help ensure the Pars do not let their chances of promotion from League One slip through their grasp.

Scully, who is on a season-long loan from Partick Thistle, was disappointed to see coach Brian Potter - brother of East End Park manager John - leave the Fifers last month to join Hamilton Accies. But the 22-year-old is thrilled he can now tap into the expertise and experience of new goalkeeping coach Goram.

As the Pars seek back-to-back wins this afternoon at home to Stenhousemuir as they bid to improve on their current fifth spot, Scully reckons the involvement of the infectious and lively Rangers icon Goram can provide the whole club with a lift.

He said: "It's good for me that Andy has come in. He's a legend of a goalkeeper, so it's good for me to draw on his experience.

"It's a different chapter but one I'm looking forward to. Andy has got his own ideas of what he wants to do, and I listen to everything he wants me to do because of his past.

"It will be good to ask him a few stories because he's also been down at Manchester United. It would be good to touch on things like that, so I'm looking forward to it.

"But it's a wee boost for everybody. Obviously there's a few Rangers fans around the squad who were quite excited by the appointment, so it's good.

"He's a big character and he's got a lot to add to Dunfermline."
