Durie told to take further time out before resuming duties

Gordon Durie, the East Fife manager, is not expected to return to the club until next month following a recent health scare.

The former Scotland internationalist was taken to hospital and kept in overnight for observation after collapsing in the Bayview dressing room following the 0-0 draw against Queen of the South on August 18.

Durie is expected to make a full recovery but has handed the reins to assistant Gordon Chisholm as he awaits the go-ahead to return to his duties in Methil.

Initial suggestions were that Durie suffered an allergic reaction but, having undergone tests, he has been told to take his time before making his comeback. He said: "I have been advised to rest for a further four weeks and Gordon will take the helm during this time."
