AS Livingston struggle to remedy their inability to find the net on SPFL Championship duty, performances like this from Darren Jamieson at the other end become all the more precious.

Jamieson, who was the hosts' spot-kick hero in the Petrofac Training Cup win over Stranraer 10 days ago, was in the limelight again as he made a string of fine saves to deny Falkirk. He foiled Blair Alston, Rory Loy, Alex Cooper and David Smith to safeguard a pivotal point.

The stalemate means Livingston, who entered this fixture rock bottom of the table, leapfrog Alloa and Cowdenbeath into eighth spot after halting a run of four successive defeats in the SPFL Championship. It was, however, a fairly impotent display and a fifth league match in a row without scoring a goal.

Falkirk, who have one win in six league games, posted an early signal of their intent, with Alston stinging the palms of Jamieson from distance.

Cooper was sent scampering through on goal by Loy, but his low shot was saved by Jamieson along with Smith's follow-up.

It took until the 20-minute mark for the visitors to warm-up on a bitterly cold night. Jordan White had a shot on goal, but Jamie MacDonald fielded the drive well. Livi, visibly more of an attacking force when they had the strong wind at their backs in the second half, went close on the hour mark as Michael McKenna fizzed a right-footed shot just wide.

Burton O'Brien first cleared a Will Vaulks header off the line for the visitors, before, with Falkirk pushing for the opener, Jamieson made yet another superb low save - this time denying a disbelieving Loy after he had burst into the penalty area.
