Dunfermline regained leadership of the First Division on goal difference by overcoming Cowdenbeath 3-0 at East End Park, in a game held up for 32 minutes at half-time.

The delay was due to an injury suffered by referee Kevin Clancy after Cowdenbeath player-manager Colin Cameron ran into him in the early part of the game.

An appeal was made to the crowd for a qualified official to assist. With the game under threat of being abandoned, a replacement official eventually came in to run the line, with assistant referee Douglas Ross taking over in the middle. In an incident-packed encounter, Dunfermline led 1-0 at the break, Joe Cardle reacting first after Thomas Flynn had blocked a Josh Falkingham shot.

Flynn kept Cowdenbeath in it by keeping out a Stephen Husband penalty with his foot but his game was cut short through injury not long afterwards, with Craig Wight taking over.

The hosts kept pressing in the second half and were rewarded with an own goal from John Armstrong after 77 minutes and a third from substitute Craig Dargo.

Dumbarton caretaker manager Jack Ross endured a tortuous 90 minutes as his side lost 4-3 at home to Airdrie United after being 2-0 and 3-2 ahead and looking set for their first league win.

Bryan Prunty put the hosts head Jim Lister diverted Scott Agnew's shot in to double their advantage. Airdrie forced it back to 2-2 with goals from Kieron Stallard and Josh Watt.

Steven McDougall put Dumbarton back in front with a precise finish but an own goal from Ross Forsyth after a goalmouth scramble and a header from Nathan Blockley gave Airdrie an unlikely three points.

Livingston and Morton shared a 2-2 draw at Almondvale but it took a late, disputed penalty from Iain Russell to earn the home side a point. Russell had given Livingston an early lead when, from 10 yards out, he finished off a Callum Booth pass. Archie Campbell scored twice to give the visitors the advantage but Michael Tidser was adjudged to have fouled Marc McNulty inside the area and Russell claimed his second from the penalty spot.

Raith Rovers edged out Hamilton 1-0 at New Douglas Park thanks to Allan Walker's goal on the stroke of half-time. Raith carried menace throughout and Laurie Ellis, Greig Spence and Brian Graham all went close in the first half before Walker volleyed home.

Hamilton had chances in the second half but Raith held on for three important points, leaving Accies still without a home win.
