Dunfermline Athletic lost their grip on a share of the First Division lead as they stuttered to a 1-1 draw at home to struggling Hamilton Academical.

The visitors went ahead after 17 minutes when Steve May shot home from the edge of the area after a cutback from Ali Crawford. Dunfermline levelled before half-time with a similar goal, Craig Dargo cutting the ball back for Andy Barrowman to beat Kevin Cuthbert with a low shot. Hamilton's Gary Fisher hit a post in the second half.

Morton are only a point behind Jim Jefferies' men after they beat Airdrie United 2-0 at Cappielow. Peter Weatherson and David Graham both went close early in the game, Weatherson heading narrowly wide and Graham being denied by Grant Adam.

Josh Watt responded by testing Derek Gaston. Adam did well to keep out a David O'Brien effort but was beaten two minutes from the break when Graham headed in from O'Brien's cross.

Martin Hardie and Scott Taggart had decent attempts as Morton sought to add to their lead in the second half. Victory was finally sealed after 83 minutes when Hardie scored after good work from Michael Tidser.

Falkirk enjoyed a 2-0 home success against Cowdenbeath. Steven Pressley's side survived an early scare when Jonathan Flynn hacked Jamie Stevenson's shot off the line but they went ahead with Stewart Murdoch's 33rd-minute penalty.

The hosts added a second before half-time when Craig Sibbald pounced on a poor clearance and picked out Lyle Taylor, who produced a sublime finish. Jay Fulton almost made it 3-0 in the second half but was denied by Thomas Flynn's superb reflex save.
