Frustrated May keen to make most of Hamilton opportunity

Stevie May insists that he had no choice but to leave St Johnstone on loan after slipping down the pecking order in Perth.

The 19-year-old striker joined Hamilton Academical last week on a deal until the end of December, having fallen behind Gregory Tade, Rowan Vine, Craig Beattie, Nigel Hasselbaink and new signing Steven MacLean in Perth. Consequently, May's game-time this term has been restricted to five substitute appearances, despite scoring 19 goals in 22 games for Alloa Athletic last season, and realises that his development is in danger of stalling.
